Dear Tammie and Ben, I penned you a short note but wanted you to have an electronic version of the impact Garrett Steen has had on our lives. I have worked a variety of occupations, including owning my own small business, “Black Magic Chimney Service,” and have learned through the school of hard knocks to literally start each day afresh and live one day at a time. I try to see the glass as 99% full. However, it was Garrett who was unfailingly upbeat and encouraging through a long, drawn-out, insurance process that tested the limits of my positivity.

One of the key aspects of having my two sons work with me in the chimney business was to teach them to treat any business that employed them as “family.” Garrett epitomizes the “perfect employee.” My younger son, Billy, was eight when he started in the chimney sweep business and several times customers asked to talk to Billy, rather than me, concerning a sweep. Our four children treat employment as a privilege, not a “job.” In Garrett, you have an outstanding advertisement for Can-Am Roofing, who talks about you, the owners, and his colleagues, especially “Chris,” as though they are family. And of course, we know Jamie is family.

I own a house in Hollister, California that I designed and helped build thirty years ago. I have just signed a contract for a new roof with the same roofer that installed the original. We did not consider obtaining quotes from anyone else except Barry Perdue and “Hollister Roofing,” even though he was new to the business in 1990 and made several major mistakes that resulted in quite a few leaks. Barry is a good person and of course learned a lot over the ensuing thirty years. The point is that we realize that roofing is more “word of mouth” than “repeat business.” Three of the first four homes in Jean Street currently have “Can-Am” signs in their front yards. We promise to spread the word.

I’m an old codger but have found my experience with Garrett inspiring and learned from him. His customer service is exceptional. Can imagine how proud Jamie is and how fortunate to have his son by his side.

 I recently had Can-Am put a new roof on my house. My roof was 14 years old but damaged from all the rains we've had and I was concerned about Hurricane Isaias heading our way. Doug Rood took charge of making sure it was installed before hand. As it turned out the hurricane passed us by thank God.  But he and Can-Am rate 5 stars in my book.

 This review is long overdue. I needed a new roof due to hail damage. After bad experiences dealing with two other roofing companies I was referred by a friend to Can-Am. Doug came out and from beginning to end it was a great experience! He was always available for questions and concerns. They were very professional, worked with my insurance company, and finished my roof within two days after starting. They had many challenges with my long tree filled entrance road but never acted like it was a problem. They always worked with me.  I would highly recommend them!

Can-Am Roofing put a new shingle roof on our 2-story house in Rockledge in October 2019.  The Can-Am team (Doug & Aaron) were very professional and good to work with. We are very happy with the work they did and recommend them.
